GTA 6 Pre-Orders Hit Estimated 7.71 Million, $751M Revenue

GTA 6 pre-orders reportedly reach 7.71 million, generating $751 million in estimated revenue, with PS5 leading Xbox Series X|S.
GTA 6 reportedly reaches 7.71 million digital pre-orders, with PS5 accounting for 74% of estimated sales.

GTA 6 hasn’t even launched yet, but Rockstar’s biggest release could already be closing in on a gaming industry record.

With just two weeks remaining until launch, Grand Theft Auto VI has reportedly reached 7.71 million digital pre-orders, generating an estimated $751 million in revenue, according to market intelligence firm Sensor Tower.

And here’s where things get even more interesting. PlayStation 5 accounts for nearly three-quarters of those pre-orders, leaving Xbox Series X|S with a much smaller share.

These figures are third-party estimates rather than officially confirmed numbers from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive. Still, they offer a fascinating look at just how much anticipation has built around GTA 6 ahead of its November 19 release.

The big question now is whether GTA 6 can surpass Cyberpunk 2077’s famous pre-order milestone before launch day even arrives.

GTA 6 Pre-Orders Reach 7.71 Million, PS5 Leads Xbox Series X|S

According to Sensor Tower’s estimates, GTA 6 has already secured approximately 7.71 million digital pre-orders, bringing in an estimated $751 million before its November 19 launch.

However, the most surprising part is the gap between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

  • PlayStation 5: 5.74 million pre-orders (74%)
  • Xbox Series X|S: 1.97 million pre-orders (26%)

That means nearly three out of every four estimated digital pre-orders have come from PS5 players.

The numbers are also growing quickly. On October 20, GTA 6 reportedly had around 6.45 million pre-orders. By November 3, that figure had climbed to 7.71 million, an increase of approximately 1.26 million pre-orders in just two weeks.

While Rockstar Games has yet to confirm these figures, the estimates suggest GTA 6 is building enormous momentum ahead of launch.

Can GTA 6 Break Cyberpunk 2077’s Pre-Order Record?

GTA 6 is now approaching a major gaming milestone. Back in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 recorded over 8 million pre-orders before launch, setting an impressive benchmark for the industry.

With an estimated 7.71 million digital pre-orders already reported, GTA 6 is just 290,000 away from that figure.

But there’s an important difference. Cyberpunk 2077’s official numbers included both physical and digital pre-orders, while GTA 6’s current estimates only cover digital sales on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

This means GTA 6’s actual total could be higher, although Rockstar Games has not released official pre-order figures.

With November 19 approaching, it will be interesting to see whether GTA 6 can surpass that milestone before players finally step into Vice City.

Final Thoughts

GTA 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming launches in history. With an estimated 7.71 million digital pre-orders and $751 million in revenue already reported, the excitement surrounding Rockstar’s upcoming blockbuster is hard to ignore.

While these numbers remain unconfirmed by Rockstar Games, the strong demand on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S suggests that November 19 could be a massive day for the gaming industry.
