GPU-Z Update Adds RTX 50 Series Hotspot Temperature Monitoring
TechPowerUp has released GPU-Z 2.71.0, adding GPU hotspot temperature monitoring for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards. The update also introduces GDDR7 memory temperature monitoring, giving users more detailed information about their GPU’s thermal performance.
Previously, GPU-Z could not reliably display hotspot temperatures on RTX 50 series cards through its usual monitoring method. This update brings the sensor back, making it more useful for gamers, PC builders, and enthusiasts who monitor temperatures while gaming or testing hardware.
What’s New in GPU-Z 2.71.0?
The main additions include:
- GPU Hotspot Monitoring: Displays the hottest measured point on supported RTX 50 series GPUs.
- GDDR7 Memory Temperatures: Reports the hottest memory chip, with individual chip temperatures available through the sensor tooltip.
- Additional Clock Readings: Adds NVIDIA SYS, L2, and video clock monitoring, disabled by default.
- PCIe Bandwidth Monitoring: Displays PCI Express data throughput in GB/s for NVIDIA GPUs.
- Expanded Hardware Support: Adds recognition for additional graphics cards and newer processor platforms.
These improvements make GPU-Z more useful for monitoring thermals, checking cooling performance, and troubleshooting potential hardware issues.
